A group of U16 and U18 girls travelled to Asia during the July school holidays for the Club’s inaugural International Training Camp for Girls. We were looked after exceptionally well by our hosts in China who provided training and accommodation facilities in Tianjin. The girls trained very hard, playing against some of China’s national players and also had time for sightseeing, visiting historical landmarks such as the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and the Great Wall of China. They then flew to Hong Kong and were hosted by Hong Kong University, playing both their U17 boys and women’s teams and having great fun at Ocean Park and Disneyland. It was a terrific educational experience for this fabulous group of girls who further developed relationships between City Beach Water Polo Club, Tianjin Water Polo Club and Hong Kong University Water Polo, in addition to further developing their water polo, team development and cultural experiences.
